About Me
I have undergone training in Art Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT). I have maintained an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development, which serves to enrich the foundation upon which I practise.
I have worked with many people challenged with depression, anxiety, sexuality and relationship difficulties, bereavement, trauma and abuse, substance misuse and adjustment to disability. In London, I have provided CBT for clients with post-traumatic stress disorder referred by medico-legal organisations, and art therapy at Recognition Health, a specialised clinic for cognitive disorders. I have provided art therapy at Greenwich Hospice in London and at the UK National Eating Disorder Service for adolescents at Springfield Hospital.

I am sincerely committed to developing the practice of art therapy. Psychotherapy
People generally turn to psychotherapy to work through the difficulties and dilemmas in which they find themselves. Psychodynamic psychotherapy aims to address conscious and unconscious issues. It can be helpful if the problem has been long term and has a recurring pattern. The therapeutic relationship is central to making therapy work.
In your initial assessment, we will work together to identify the aims and approach you understand to be most beneficial for your therapy. Appointment times will be organised in your first session. In line with my professional organisation, there is some paperwork to sign and read over such as a consent and confidentiality agreement.

Art Therapy
Young children may use art making as a form of thinking about the joys and struggles of their world. Art psychotherapy recognises this early wish for understanding. Clients may draw from a range of materials (e.g. pencils, paint or pastels) to work through problems and uncover sources of courage and vitality.
The creative process — building presence, working with content and meaning in images, overcoming areas of difficulty, bringing elements together — may offer clarity and focus in the psychotherapy. All art work is confidential and property of the client.

Mentalisation based therapy
Mentalisation starts with the idea that we don’t know what’s in other people’s minds. We “mentalise” when we try to understand intentions in ourselves and others. We usually do this automatically but stress can compromise this capacity. Insecure early attachment may lead to severe problems in trust, emotional regulation and relationship security.
Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy recommended by UK’s National Institute of Clinical Excellence that has gained international recognition. By strengthening the ability to mentalise, it aims to reduce interpersonal conflict, impulsivity and mental health problems.
